Churches Multiply Gifts In Creative Ways

Christian Appalachian Project -

There's a passage in scripture about a young boy who had a meager offering to meet an overwhelming need. He gave that offering to Christ, Who then blessed it. This small gift became life giving nourishment for 5,000 people.

Churches can be living, breathing examples of the parable of the loaves and fishes, in multiplying individual gifts and prayers to empower thousands of lives, through education, crisis intervention and community development.

Churches help us by hosting information fairs, CAP speakers, sponsoring gift drives or coming as a group to work with us. The opportunites for giving are both diverse and exciting, allowing each gift to be a unique reflection of each church.

Voices Of Experience

Diana Duff (Holy Name of Jesus Church, Springfield, MA) after coordinating her church effort to send school supplies to over 1,000 Appalachian students:

"As a teacher, I see the delight and ownership students have with their own new colored pencils and notebooks, they feel prepared to meet the task at hand for many it makes the difference in their ability to be independent and succeed."

Pastor Clarence Houser (Rock Church, Gosport, Indiana) after bringing a mission team to repair a home for an Appalachian family:

"I would encourage any organization to go to CAP and help with this worthwhile labor of love for Jesus. I believe that God would bless them as He has us here at Rock Church."
